Food Safety Workshop November 8th in Alameda!

Please come to a Food Safety workshop for small farmers on Nov. 8th from 9:00-12:30 at the Alameda Cooperative Extension Office at 1131 Harbor Bay Parkway, Conference Room 106, Alameda, CA. This workshop will help you identify any potential risks of contamination on your farm or garden, and will help you develop a GAPs/Food Safety Program for your farm following USDA GAPs guidelines, that will prepare you, if need be, for a 3rd party audit. The workshop will be part presentation using powerpoint, and part interactive hands-on participation and demonstration of GAPS/Food safety protocols. You will receive a GAPs/Food Safety binder that includes: - A Food Safety manual that can be tailored to your farm. - Record keeping sheets - Where to get your water and soil samples tested. - What worker training is needed. - Standard operating procedures for cleaning & sanitizing. Please R.S.V.P. so we can be sure to have sufficient materials and snacks available! Also, please let Jennifer know if you NEED or are able to OFFER a ride to the workshop.
