Specialty Crops Field Day & Meeting

Registration is free, and lunch is provided, but you must register by calling 559.684.3300

Field Tours: 
 Specialty crop field trials including jujube, lemon grass, Szechwan pepper, papaya, Hmong 
medicinal herb collection, capers, soil solarization, and others. 
 Season extension demonstrations including low and high tunnels,  crop protection shading 
system for high value crops, and  experimental rotating trellis system to reduce sunburn on 
late-season blackberries. 

Small Farm Workshop: 
Designed for farms 500 acres or less.  Each topic will be approximately 20-30 minutes.
 Food safety basics and recommendations.  
 Practical tips to access capital and loans from new sources.
 Easy, free business planning tools.
 Technical assistance tools, consultants and networks.
 Insurance options that save time and money
