About our speakers: John Oosterman, USDA Farm Service Agency John L. Oosterman serves as the farm loan chief for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) in California. He oversees the Farm Loan Programs, which lent $38.1 million in direct funds and $82.7 million in guaranteed funds during fiscal year 2013. John brings to the business a long line of professional experience, having begun his career with the Farmers Home Administration in 1987. John is a graduate of Cal Polytechnic State University; Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa; and Modesto Junior College in Modesto, California.
Anthony Chang, California Farmlink
Anthony Chang is the Director of Lending with California Farmlink. Anthony is an experienced small business advisor and microlender, non-profit program director, and passionate sustainable food and farmer advocate. He spent 10+ years as a small business advisor and lender at Opportunity Fund. While at Opportunity Fund, Anthony helped build the microfinance program into one of the foremost non-profit microlenders in the US, including increasing their microloans from 30 to 1,000 per year. Anthony joined California FarmLink in 2011 and immediately helped launch their direct farm microloan program. As the Director of Lending, he provides technical assistance to farmers seeking financing, teaches classes on farm financing, and continues to improve farm businesses across California.
Justin Renfro, Kiva Zip Justin is the associate manager of business development for Kiva Zip. He leads Kiva Zip's efforts in the United States, building partnerships and finding qualified entrepreneurs to support. Justin graduated with a degree in entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona and started his career at LinkedIn. He's been particularly focused on supporting small farms and food producers throughout the country with Kiva Zip.
James Hall, Wells Fargo Bank Business Banking Group
James Hall is a Vice President and Business Banking Manager with Wells Fargo Bank Business Banking Group. He is currently responsible for managing eight team members and a $336 million dollar customer portfolio consisting of over 300 companies and individuals from Fresno to Monterey. James has been banking for 18 years, having started his career in 1993 after serving four years of active duty military in the United States Air Force.
