Farmer-to-Farmer breakfast this Thursday, October 2nd7-8:30 AM at Hillview Farms, 1340 Matson Drive in Auburn.
Please RSVP by replying to this e-mail by Wednesday (Oct 1) morning.
Matson Drive is a left turn off Luther Road, before you get to the railroad tracks (coming from Hwy 49). Michael Whamond will give us farm tour. We’ll also talk about how the growing season is going and how the drought is affecting each of you.
It’ll be a simple breakfast – coffee, fruit, scones, bagels & cream cheese, etc. We won’t be cooking eggs for you! Cost $5 per person…cash, please, no checks. Bring a folding chair if you want to sit.

We will also have a knife and implement (pruners, loppers, etc.) sharpening event after the breakfast in the UCCE Farm Advisors’ parking lot at 11477 E Avenue, in DeWitt Center. Bring your tools, knives, etc. for sharpening at $5 per item. They take cash or credit cards.


Farm Marketing Tour for Commercial Farmers

Meet at UC Cooperative Extension, 11477 E Avenue, DeWitt Center, Auburn
Thinking about diversifying your marketing outlets?  Learn about different types of farm marketing from the source.  With a group of other farmers, visit the Capay Valley Farm Store and Produce Express, a wholesale produce distributor.  Learn about the requirements for various types of marketing channels and market economics.
Pre-registration is required. Limited to 20 participants, so register early!
Cost is $15 per person, which includes morning snacks and lunch.  Refunds are not available.
The tour is supported by a grant from the Western Extension Risk Management Center.
