The Farm Staff position involves working in all aspects of the farm. This includes tasks such as propagation, transplanting, weeding, irrigation, harvest, post-harvest handling, CSA packing, deliveries, and farmers markets. Tractor work and other tasks may be included depending on the interest level and experience of the individual. Once our CSA season starts, the majority of the farm tasks are centered around our weekly harvest and delivery schedule.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone that is interested in starting their own farm some day. We expect you will learn a great deal working here, not only about vegetable production but also about business and marketing.
This seasonal position starts in April and goes through November. Work is 40+ hours/week (5 day work week). Must be able to work weekends.
Some previous farming experience is required, preferably one season working on a farm.
The ideal candidate for this position has a good work ethic, passion for farming and food, the ability to take initiative, and a good sense of humor. Punctuality and reliability are key. Work here is fast paced. Individuals considering farming as a career encouraged to apply. A number of our former employees have gone on to start their own farms.
This position requires lifting, must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, have a clean driving record and current drivers license.
Although housing is not available on the farm, there are many options for housing locally.
