The Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) provides financial assistance to producers of noninsurable crops to protect against natural disasters that result in lower yields or crop losses, or prevents crop planting.
Tuesday, March 1st is the NAP Application Closing Deadline (ACD) for 2016 annual crops (e.g. tomatoes, green beans, herbs, squash, carrots, peppers, Brussel sprouts, sunflowers).
You must file a CCC-471 (attached) and pay your service fee by March 1, 2016.For all coverage levels, the NAP service fee is the lesser of $250 per crop or $750 per producer per administrative county, not to exceed a total of $1,875 for a producer with farming interests in multiple counties.Beginning, limited resource, and traditionally underserved farmers are eligible for a waiver of the service fee and a 50 percent premium reduction.Optional buy up coverage must also be selected by the ACD.
